2024 Primary Election
Important Dates
June 3rd, 2024 (12:00 p.m.): Candidate filing deadline for the Primary/General Election - Candidates file at the Kansas Secretary of States Office. (Precinct committee candidates file at the Election Office). Deadline for the submission of questions to be placed on the Primary Election Ballot
June 3rd, 2024 (12:00 p.m.): Deadline to change your party affiliation for the 2024 Primary Election
July 16th, 2024: Last day to register to vote
July 17th, 2024: Advance by mail ballots begin mailing
July 27th, 2024: Advance Voting In-Person begins (5 Locations)
August 1st, 2024: Public test of voting equipment
August 5th, 2024: Advance In-Person Voting ends (12:00 Noon at the Election Office only)
August 6th, 2024: Primary Election (Polls are open from 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.)
August 8th, 2024: Selection of contests and precincts for post-election audit (10:00 a.m. until completed)
August 9th, 2024: Post-election audit (10:00 a.m. until completed)
August 15th, 2024: Canvass of the 2024 Primary Election (10:00 a.m. until completed)
August 16th, 2024: Post-election public test of voting equipment
August 16th, 2024: Recount request deadline (5:00 p.m.)
Voters in Wyandotte County have three options to vote:

Applications for advance by mail ballots are available online, and can be returned to our office by mail, fax, or e-mail.

Voters can visit one of our five in-person early voting locations. Locations and hours are available online.

On August 6th, 2024 you must visit your assigned Polling Place to vote on election day. Polls are open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. You can find your assigned Polling Place by using the online voter look up tool Voter View.
